The obvious question, never addressed by domestic and international uncritical supporters of Chávez, is why is Venezuela so interested in supporting Iran's nuclear ambitions? Venezuela, as a signatory of the Treaty of Tlatelolco, has always been against nuclear proliferation. Iran protests that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, and yet has repeatedly refused to participate in plans that would guarantee their access to nuclear energy for peaceful use.

One has only to peruse the IAEA website to verify Iran's duplicity regarding their intentions. The most recent example of the IAEA's frustration is dated June 8, 2006: http://www.iaea.org/NewsCenter/Focus/IaeaIran/gov2006-38.pdf

The IAEA moved the document's URL. This is the correct one: http://www.iaea.org/Publications/Documents/Board/2006/gov2006-38.pdf

My apologies to the readers.
