Pablo Navarrete, Caracas: Below are the answers to some questions I recently put to British journalist and author of Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Revolution, Richard Gott.

Richard Gott has reported on Latin America for more than four decades. In the 1960s he worked at the University of Chile, where he wrote Guerrilla Movements in Latin America. He is a former Latin America correspondent and features editor for the British newspaper The Guardian and author of Cuba: A New History, among other books. His most recent book is entitled Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Revolution (Verso, 2005).

BBC Mundo Wants Your Views on Chávez

Pablo Navarrete, Caracas: The BBC´s portal on Latin America in Spanish, BBC Mundo, is asking for the public´s view on Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. The piece is introduced by Teodoro Petkoff, a former Communist guerilla who now edits the opposition newspaper ´Tal Cual´ and who represents one of the more sensible voices from the Venezuelan opposition.

Pablo Navarrete, Caracas: Yesterday, Telesur, the new continent-wide television channel co-sponsored by the governments of Venezuela, Argentina, Cuba and Uruguay, began transmitting on a 24-hour basis, following a trial period of transmission since its launch in July this year.
