I discovered interesting "facts" about Venezuelan history thanks to Mr. Carlson.

1- Chávez was elected on an "anti-imperialist" platform. Never mind that the word "imperialism" does not even appear once in his platform (http://www.analitica.com/bitblioteca/hchavez/programa.asp)

2- The government has taken complete control of the oil sector (foreign companies would be surprised to learn this).

3- Everything that opponents to Chávez do in Venezuela was designed, financed, and led by the US; i.e., there is no local cause for the opposition (this is an extreme form of what real Marxists call a "Guevarist" deviation).
